Occurrences in the Quran
And He taught AdamAdam the names of all things; then He placed them before the angels, and said: "Tell me the names of these if ye are right."
He said: "O AdamAdam! Tell them their names." When he had told them, Allah said: "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and I know what ye reveal and what ye conceal?"
And behold, We said to the angels: "Bow down to AdamAdam" and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject Faith.
We said: "O AdamAdam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden; and eat of the bountiful things therein as (where and when) ye will; but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression."
Then learnt AdamAdam from his Lord words of inspiration, and his Lord Turned towards him; for He is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.
Allah did choose AdamAdam and NoahNuh, the family of AbrahamIbrahim, and the family of 'ImranImran above all people,-
The similitude of JesusIsa before Allah is as that of AdamAdam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was.
Recite to them the truth of the story of the two sons of AdamAdam. Behold! they each presented a sacrifice (to Allah): It was accepted from one, but not from the other. Said the latter: "Be sure I will slay thee." "Surely," said the former, "Allah doth accept of the sacrifice of those who are righteous."
It is We Who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the angels prostrate to AdamAdam, and they prostrate; not so Iblis; He refused to be of those who prostrate.
"O AdamAdam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and enjoy (its good things) as ye wish: but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression."
O ye Children of AdamAdam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover your shame, as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness,- that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition!
O ye Children of AdamAdam! Let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as He got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you from a position where ye cannot see them: We made the evil ones friends (only) to those without faith.
O Children of AdamAdam! wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: But waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.
O ye Children of AdamAdam! whenever there come to you messengers from amongst you, rehearsing My signs unto you,- those who are righteous and mend (their lives),- on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.
When thy Lord drew forth from the Children of AdamAdam - from their loins - their descendants, and made them testify concerning themselves, (saying): "Am I not your Lord (who cherishes and sustains you)?"- They said: "Yea! We do testify!" (This), lest ye should say on the Day of Judgment: "Of this we were never mindful":
Behold! We said to the angels: "Bow down unto AdamAdam": They bowed down except Iblis: He said, "Shall I bow down to one whom Thou didst create from clay?"
We have honoured the sons of AdamAdam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of our creation.
Behold! We said to the angels, "Bow down to AdamAdam": They bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord. Will ye then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrong-doers!
Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of AdamAdam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with NoahNuh, and of the posterity of AbrahamIbrahim and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of (Allah) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears.
We had already, beforehand, taken the covenant of AdamAdam, but he forgot: and We found on his part no firm resolve.
When We said to the angels, "Prostrate yourselves to AdamAdam", they prostrated themselves, but not Iblis: he refused.
Then We said: "O AdamAdam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife: so let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery."
But Satan whispered evil to him: he said, "O AdamAdam! shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that never decays?"
In the result, they both ate of the tree, and so their nakedness appeared to them: they began to sew together, for their covering, leaves from the Garden: thus did AdamAdam disobey his Lord, and allow himself to be seduced.
"Did I not enjoin on you, O ye Children of AdamAdam, that ye should not worship Satan; for that he was to you an enemy avowed?"-
