Then after them sent We MosesMusa and AaronHarun to PharaohFiraun and his chiefs with Our Signs. But they were arrogant: they were a people in sin.
Said PharaohFiraun: "Bring me every sorcerer well versed."
But none believed in MosesMusa except some children of his people, because of the fear of PharaohFiraun and his chiefs, lest they should persecute them; and certainly PharaohFiraun was mighty on the earth and one who transgressed all bounds.
MosesMusa prayed: "Our Lord! Thou hast indeed bestowed on PharaohFiraun and his chiefs splendour and wealth in the life of the present, and so, Our Lord, they mislead (men) from Thy Path. Deface our Lord, the features of their wealth, and send hardness to their hearts, so they will not believe until they see the grievous penalty."
We took the Children of Israel across the sea: PharaohFiraun and his hosts followed them in insolence and spite. At length, when overwhelmed with the flood, he said: "I believe that there is no god except Him Whom the Children of Israel believe in: I am of those who submit (to Allah in Islam)."
Unto PharaohFiraun and his chiefs: but they followed the command of PharaohFiraun and the command of PharaohFiraun was no right (guide).

MosesMusa said, "Thou knowest well that these things have been sent down by none but the Lord of the heavens and the earth as eye-opening evidence: and I consider thee indeed, O PharaohFiraun, to be one doomed to destruction!"
"Go thou to PharaohFiraun, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds."

So they threw their ropes and their rods, and said: "By the might of PharaohFiraun, it is we who will certainly win!"
Then PharaohFiraun sent heralds to (all) the Cities,
"Now put thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm): (these are) among the nine Signs (thou wilt take) to PharaohFiraun and his people: for they are a people rebellious in transgression."
We rehearse to thee some of the story of MosesMusa and PharaohFiraun in Truth, for people who believe.
Truly PharaohFiraun elated himself in the land and broke up its people into sections, depressing a small group among them: their sons he slew, but he kept alive their females: for he was indeed a maker of mischief.
To establish a firm place for them in the land, and to show PharaohFiraun, HamanHaman, and their hosts, at their hands, the very things against which they were taking precautions.
Then the people of PharaohFiraun picked him up (from the river): (It was intended) that (MosesMusa) should be to them an adversary and a cause of sorrow: for PharaohFiraun and HamanHaman and (all) their hosts were men of sin.
The wife of PharaohFiraun said: "(Here is) joy of the eye, for me and for thee: slay him not. It may be that he will be use to us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not (what they were doing)!
"Move thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm), and draw thy hand close to thy side (to guard) against fear. Those are the two credentials from thy Lord to PharaohFiraun and his Chiefs: for truly they are a people rebellious and wicked."
PharaohFiraun said: "O Chiefs! no god do I know for you but myself: therefore, O HamanHaman! light me a (kiln to bake bricks) out of clay, and build me a lofty palace, that I may mount up to the god of MosesMusa: but as far as I am concerned, I think (MosesMusa) is a liar!"
(Remember also) Qarun, PharaohFiraun, and HamanHaman: there came to them MosesMusa with Clear Signs, but they behaved with insolence on the earth; yet they could not overreach (Us).
Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of NoahNuh, and 'Ad, and PharaohFiraun, the Lord of Stakes,
To PharaohFiraun, HamanHaman, and Qarun; but they called (him) "a sorcerer telling lies!"...
Said PharaohFiraun: "Leave me to slay MosesMusa; and let him call on his Lord! What I fear is lest he should change your religion, or lest he should cause mischief to appear in the land!"
A believer, a man from among the people of PharaohFiraun, who had concealed his faith, said: "Will ye slay a man because he says, 'My Lord is Allah'?- when he has indeed come to you with Clear (Signs) from your Lord? and if he be a liar, on him is (the sin of) his lie: but, if he is telling the Truth, then will fall on you something of the (calamity) of which he warns you: Truly Allah guides not one who transgresses and lies!"
"O my People! Yours is the dominion this day: Ye have the upper hand in the land: but who will help us from the Punishment of Allah, should it befall us?" PharaohFiraun said: "I but point out to you that which I see (myself); Nor do I guide you but to the Path of Right!"
PharaohFiraun said: "O HamanHaman! Build me a lofty palace, that I may attain the ways and means-"
"The ways and means of (reaching) the heavens, and that I may mount up to the god of MosesMusa: But as far as I am concerned, I think (MosesMusa) is a liar!" Thus was made alluring, in PharaohFiraun's eyes, the evil of his deeds, and he was hindered from the Path; and the plot of PharaohFiraun led to nothing but perdition (for him).
Then Allah saved him from (every) ill that they plotted (against him), but the burnt of the Penalty encompassed on all sides the People of PharaohFiraun.
In front of the Fire will they be brought, morning and evening: And (the sentence will be) on the Day that Judgment will be established:
We did send MosesMusa aforetime, with Our Signs, to PharaohFiraun and his Chiefs: He said, "I am a messenger of the Lord of the Worlds."
And PharaohFiraun proclaimed among his people, saying: "O my people! Does not the dominion of Egypt belong to me, (witness) these streams flowing underneath my (palace)? What! see ye not then?"
We did, before them, try the people of PharaohFiraun: there came to them a messenger most honourable,
Inflicted by PharaohFiraun, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors.
The 'Ad, PharaohFiraun, the brethren of Lut,
And in MosesMusa (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to PharaohFiraun, with authority manifest.

And Allah sets forth, as an example to those who believe the wife of PharaohFiraun: Behold she said: "O my Lord! Build for me, in nearness to Thee, a mansion in the Garden, and save me from PharaohFiraun and his doings, and save me from those that do wrong";
And PharaohFiraun, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin.
We have sent to you, (O men!) a messenger, to be a witness concerning you, even as We sent a messenger to PharaohFiraun.
But PharaohFiraun disobeyed the messenger; so We seized him with a heavy Punishment.
"Go thou to PharaohFiraun for he has indeed transgressed all bounds:"
Of PharaohFiraun and the Thamud?
